Mike Palmer was honored to share his perspective with MarketWatch recently on the topic of how a financial planner can assist a newly retired couple. The reader, a retiree with $3.7 million in retirement assets asked if an advisor's fees are worth the cost. 

“You should review the asset location of certain investments for maximum tax efficiency, which is one place a good adviser can add value. There’s not enough information here to know if tax loss harvesting is an opportunity but a good adviser would do this proactively,” says Mike Palmer, certified financial planner at Ark Royal Wealth Management in Raleigh, North Carolina.
