October & November are traditionally times where larger employers in our area (Cisco, GSK, IBM to name a few) offer deferred compensation enrollment for the coming year. Deferred compensation can be a valuable benefit, but it is also complicated and lacks some of the flexibility of more common 401-k and stock compensation plans. We recommend consulting with a financial advisor who is familiar with the intricacies of your specific plan before enrolling in your company's deferred compensation plan.
